I really enjoyed making Abhi’s wedding dress: she is a woman with a very precise vision. We discussed what she wanted in deep detail, exploring all the options in order to truly hit the mark with her gown, so when I started, I had a very clear picture of what she wanted (she even put together a pdf “booklet” of sorts to get all the things in one place!), and I really liked the idea!
It was based off my Paeonia design, except she wanted more a of a seashell color palette, and more oomph to the skirt. There are so many different materials, hues, textures in this dress!
I was so excited to see these photos, it’s the completion of a project to get too finally see the bride in the dress I stitched just for her!
I asked Abhi to write me a few lines about what the process was like for her:
I looked long and hard for a non-traditional wedding dress that was going to fit my bold, free and non-traditional character and the bohemian theme of the wedding.
The moment I stumbled upon Larimeloom I fell in love with delicate and beautiful style of Lucia’s dresses. Over the next 4 months and 100 email exchanges later, Lucia patiently put my custom touches and ideas to the Paeonia dress.
The outcome was just delightful; a structured corset with free flowing magic from the waist down. It was not one of those traditional, rigid dresses that restricted my movement.
I was able to have so much fun during my photo-shoot in the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway where I live. I was running, jumping, walking around barefoot and just being free!!
The dress was so light and the slightest wind blew it all around making for gorgeous pictures.
I truly felt like a princess! I continue to receive many compliments on my dress which made the day!
I am so happy that I found Lucia and that the Paeonia dress found me!
