Hedera ~ Celtic Tunic Wedding Dress
The Hedera celtic tunic wedding dress is unique. It has a strange, ethereal lightness, and a timeless shape, reminiscent of Celtic priestesses, of floating greek Goddesses, long silk gowns blowing in the wind. It emanates a natural, elemental feeling, blending effortlessly in the space around it.
Composed of three layers of silk fabric, the two bottom layers are cut as one and are loose but sit close to the body, barely skimming it. The top layer is a sheer crepe silk chiffon, light, breezy, flowing and entirely loose. The bottom layers and the top layer are connected only at the neckline, and so the top layer moves and flows with any small movement or breath of air.
This version on the tunic dress features a slit up the side of the bottom layers. The top layer is stitched to the under-dress only at the shoulder seam.
You can wear the tunic wedding dress with a belt clasping the top layer all around, or just in front, or not at all, for different looks.
The belt included is available in different finishes, the blush one that is featured has run out however. Additionally I can make it plain, or with a hemp main fabric. The back ties will always be the same silk chiffon of the top layer, and they will tie in a nice but not overly large bow.
It is ideal for maternity, as I can customise it to accomodate your belly. It also suits plus size bodies beautifully, highliting your waistline and flowing loosely on the rest of your body. The subtle veiling of your upper arm is very becoming, and effective in covering without engulfing you.
For the Blush color option, the bottom layers will be blush, the top layer will be ivory. You can see the blush/ivory version, styled with a hemp belt instead of a silk one, here. A very similar, but slightly different (more silk in the top layer) plus size version is pictured here.
And here you can see the same design, in a naturally dyed yellow (achieved with onion peels). If you’d like a custom dyed dress, do contact me!
• MATERIALS & CARE:
Dry-clean or handwash with care. Iron with a lot of steam on medium setting. Please test on an inner part of the garment. It will need a lot of careful ironing if you choose to handwash as silk will crease a lot.
